Professional Somatic Therapy Courses For Clients Across Swindon

A very important part of my training and experience is in Formative Psychology, which is concerned with how these patterns become somatised or embodied.

Working closely with my Swindon clients, our job is to together bring awareness of how these patterns are embodied or somatised in the body - whether a density, a rigidity, a dissociation or a collapse. Together, we'll also look at how to bring awareness to them so they can be reorganised.

Providing a neutral, comfortable and welcoming environment for individuals to communicate more effectively and explore their feelings, I work throughout Swindon, so call me today on 07957 111693 for a discreet initial consultation.

Specialist somatic therapy across Swindon

According to studies carried out by somatic psychologists, our bodies often hold on to past traumas which are then reflected in our expressions, body language and posture. In some situations, past traumas may manifest physical symptoms like immune system dysfunction, depression, anxiety, digestive issues, sexual dysfunction, addiction, pain, hormonal imbalances and other medical issues.

I've successfully worked with hundreds of clients from across Swindon, helping them to reflect and transform past or current experiences and create a greater sense of oneself and confidence.

What do my somatic therapy sessions look at?

The main goal of my somatic therapy sessions is the recognition and release of physical tension that may remain in the body after a traumatic event in your life.

Sometimes it may be difficult to spot somatic patterns at first, because the issue might seem so intensely about time, money, food, intimacy, work or other people etc.

But, say you feel like a victim and you collapse to avoid the pain of feeling powerless, you actually create even more powerlessness; then you behave and feel more like a victim.

You could also feel pushed into being responsible for things you can't control and you tighten your body to avoid the pain of feeling unsupported, you create even more pressure internally, which leads to feeling even more responsible.

Depending on the form of somatic therapy provided, sessions may include;

  • Awareness of bodily sensations
  • Voice work
  • Dance
  • Breathing techniques
  • Physical exercise
  • Movement
  • Healing touch
