Another important part of my experience and training is in Formative Psychology, which is concerned with how these patterns become embodied (or somatised).

Working closely with my London clients, our job is to together bring awareness of how these patterns are somatised in the body - whether a dissociation, a density, a rigidity or a collapse. We'll also look at how to bring awareness to them so they can be reorganised.

Specialist somatic therapy

According to somatic psychologists, our bodies often hold on to past traumas which are reflected in our posture, expressions and body language. In some cases, past traumas may manifest physical symptoms like digestive issues, immune system disfunction, pain, anxiety, addiction, depression, sexual dysfunction, hormonal imbalances and other medical issues.

I've successfully worked with hundreds of clients from across London, helping them to reflect and transform past or current experiences and create a greater sense of oneself and confidence. 

What do my London somatic therapy sessions look at?

The main goal of somatic therapy is the release and recognition of physical tension that may remain in the body in the aftermath of a traumatic event in your life.

It may be difficult to see somatic patterns at first, because the issue might seem so intensely about food, time, intimacy, money, other people or work etc. 

But, say you feel like a victim and you collapse to avoid the pain of feeling powerless, you actually create even more powerlessness; then you feel and behave more like a victim.

You could also feel pushed into being responsible for things you can't control and you tighten your body to avoid the pain of feeling unsupported, you create even more pressure internally, which leads to feeling even more responsible. 

Depending on the form of somatic therapy provided, sessions may include;
